I am a painter at heart and illustration and photography are passions of mine that bring this fine art grounding into the medium of commercial visual communication. So I am delighted to be able to bring these aspects into play in any project when it is beneficial.

The image at left is essentially a 'digital painting' using a combination of various visual elements (photography, pastel drawings etc.) crafted together digitally to create the album artwork for 'Breath of the Spirit' by the singer Aileen Gilchrist.

The illustration is complex and consists of many layers and effects which give the final illustration a depth and intensity and painterly quality you could not easily substitute with generic stock imagery. The image conveys, and indeed exceeded, the sense of beauty, intensity and other-worldliness that the client desired.
